Coaching Values

Jeff spent 15 years as a professional athlete, specialising in the 800m and 1500m. His career highlights include representing Australia at the Beijing, London, Rio and Tokyo Olympics, joining a select group of only nine other track and field athletes to be selected in four Olympic Games.

Throughout his career, Jeff has always been curious about physiology and training; partly in his own pursuit of excellence, but also due to the inherent passion for mentoring upcoming athletes and eventually coaching in the future. This has seen Jeff go down the pathway of a Bachelor in Exercise Science & Sports Management, as well as more recently a Masters in High Performance Sport. 

After retiring in 2022, Jeff has gone on to combine the theory learned through his studies with the experience gained through being a professional athlete for 15 years to embark on a journey into coaching. This has included a volunteer coaching role at Princeton University (NCAA Division One) and more recently becoming the Head of Athletics at Melbourne Girls Grammar School.

Jeff brings experience across the whole athlete pathway to assist developing young athletes both on and off the track. This includes coaching in high schools and in the NCAA, a thorough understanding and knowledge of the State Institute of Sport system and experience in navigating the professional athletics circuit in Asia, Europe and America. With a passion for seeing young athletes enjoy the sport in the same way he did, Jeff is excited to start his own face to face training group.
